SOUTHWELL V. MCKEE: Mask Mandate Lawsuit Update from plaintiff coordinator:

YOUR SUPPORT won the day! S-2219 and H-8230 were passed into law, awaiting signing by Governor McKee. Children will be better protected from sexual predators because of your overwhelming support. We were very dismayed that Barrington Representative Knight (Dist 67) was one of only three legislators who voted against this bill... not once, but three times. Please consider carefully when voting in November whether this lack of representation is what is best for our kids.
CANDIDATE ANNOUNCEMENTS: Eastbay News reported on the slate of candidates in Barrington, and BPU is eager to get to know their positions and support those who are aligned with parents as the key stakeholders in the educational, physical, and mental health of their kids. We will share ongoing info regarding opportunities for meet and greets, volunteering, and donating to those candidates who share respect for informed consent and private medical and mental health decisions between families and their chosen experts.
SC PACKETS ADDED TO BPS WEBSITE: After a belabored back-and-forth with the SC and Administration, we've been able to start getting meeting packets posted online. Although they are not required by law, it is a best practice and a simple tool that does not need a $107K proposed Communications Expert to benefit the public, if posted by the time the agenda is posted (min 48hr prior to mtg). Packets are the public's access to the same supporting documentation for the agenda as the members of the meeting body are prepared with ahead of time. As of the June 15 meeting where the packets were requested via public comment, some packets are now available. Please politely reach out to Ms. Nancy Gladney as agendas are posted if you do not see a corresponding packet. gladneyn@barringtonschools.org
